I did not mean to pull a Breaking the Silence, but an Israeli soldier I know who fought in Gaza from November-January shared his recollections with me several months ago and has now kindly allowed me to publish them. The following is edited very slightly for clarity, but is otherwise as it was received.

Disclaimer

This is just the experience of one soldier on the lowest rung of command, I have only my perspective to share. My understanding of the Israeli-Arab Conflict, both past and current, is developing and my views aren't particularly sophisticated. Though I am not much of a writer, I hope this short recounting will provide some sort of pointers regarding what questions to ask when investigating the war in Gaza from an Israeli perspective.
